British Waterways Canal Environmental Framework

CASA, working alongside a multi-disciplinary team, have been awarded the challenge of developing a framework tool for British Waterways. The Canal Environment Framework Tool will aid decision makers in their understanding of the constraints and opportunities for development along the section of the Forth and Clyde Canal that falls within Glasgow City boundaries. It will integrate, as effectively and accessibly as possible, a range of topics relating to the canal environment including ecology, landscape, urban green space, paths and access, in addition to cultural heritage. The main role of the tool is to assist a wide range of practitioners, particularly those working in the field of urban planning, to manage and monitor change along this stretch of the canal. Our partners on this project include Glasgow University Archaeology Department, Corvus Consulting
